seasons
It can't get cold fast enough for me. Fall is my favorite season, winter next, summer dead last. The heat, blah, the sun, not recommended, trying to dress for the heat but avoid showing my white legs, frustrating. Please get cold soon! Obviously, my children have a different opinion. This afternoon they had a "beach party" on the driveway.

NAC
Mia had her first Acrobats meet today. She has been really working hard and we are so proud of her! We have a lot of fun "judging" her at home as she practices. She is a big fan of DWTS and so we judge like they do. I often play "Carrie Ann Inaba" and Mia just laughs and laughs.
She is really building her self-confidence; memorizing a routine and performing alone is a lot for a 5 year old. We are so proud of her and can't wait to watch her progress over the year! Way to go Sis!
Trunk or Treat
Halloween starts early around here and by the 31st those costumes become old news. This year I had fancy ideas to make something, but the mailman delivered a very appealing costume catalog. Mia Kate had her eye on the Cowgirl costume, so we took a visit to a local costume store and low and behold a shiny, pink, size 5/6 was calling her name! That prompted Jilli to want to be a cow and I was pretty sure I had something resembling a cow hanging around. I was going to try and turn it into another cowgirl and get her red boots, but she insisted on being a cow and that cows "Don't wear boots, they have black feet." She loves it and even though people were calling her a cowgirl or square dancer, she loved it and that is what counts!
These are photos from our school's Trunk or Treat. The girls greatly enjoyed the evening and it was fun to watch Mia see her little school friends.
Kindergarten Fun
M.K. had Red Ribbon Week at school this week. Thursday was "Craze Out Drugs" day, wearing crazy socks/hats. She chose her socks and hat. Please note, it was not also "Dress Like a Wal-Mart Employee" day, that is her Daisy uniform. She had her first meeting after school that day and loves it! She is also holding a butterfly that she got as a prize for
{ I am such an expert on Wal Mart uniforms because I worked at one during a summer of college.}

Pumpkin Patch
Last weekend we made our annual trip to Schaake's Pumpkin Patch. Normally we go on a weekday, but with M.K. in school we had to go on Saturday. Brad likes to beat the crowd, so we were there at 8:51 and it opened at 9:00. It was a good thing, by the time we left the parking lot was packed and cars were at least a 1/2 mile down the gravel road.
Pick of the Patch!
Our rule is that you have to be able to carry it back to the wagon,
looks like they have it under control!
Tis the season......
for festivals! We are loving the fall weather and in the last three weeks have been to four festivals. Two of them (Fall Festival at Church and the Scarecrow Festival downtown) you will have to imagine, no pictures there. Actually, imagine me taking the girls alone to the Scarecrow Festival without a stroller only to arrive and low and behold you really make a scarecrow. Say what now? As in as big as me stuffed with straw and I carried it across a busy intersection while holding a 3 year old. The head fell off in the street and some guy chased me down with it. Go ahead, imagine it!
Below are some pictures from the Westin Apple Festival and the Arrow Rock Festival. This was our second year at Westin and the girls' first year at Arrow Rock. Bradley and I went there 10 years ago.....
