Happy (late) Halloween!

Better late than never! We had a busy a Halloween season. Of course, to top it off the dance studio has you dress up for class. Well, this isn't my first Halloween dance class rodeo folks! I am done hauling the whole get up to class. Simply pick an old tutu costume and put in on over a leotard, when the parade is over, drop the tutu, go to class.

Of course our pirate costumes arrrrr much cuter! We found Mia's costume at Party City. Jilli's was discovered at the thrift store and I jazzed it up with the tulling and feather belt. We found some fun accessories and I thought the girls were darling!

My grandma came for a Trunk or Treat and surprised us wearing pirate gear too!

We had a family wedding the next day and so we had to travel to Missouri for trick or treating. The girls loved seeing their cousins!

Easter 2014

We had a lovely Easter. The night before we were out late at a birthday party. On the way home Jilli announced "Guys, I just don't think I will make 8:00 church." Brad and I looked at each other and before we could respond she added "Actually, I don't think I can make 10:00 either." Really? After we exchanged shocked faces, Mia let her have it, and then I whispered to Brad "the queen reigns." This is referring to a sign in her room I clearly need to remove.

Come morning, we are at church 30 minutes early for what I thought was 10:00 mass, doing good!!! Then we noticed people leaving. Hmmm?? Turns out church was a new time and we were an hour early. First time in my life! Of all people I should have known, it was marked on a huge sign by the parking lot that I pass daily. Oops. We sat in the 2nd row for Easter mass and had a whole hour before mass to pray/look at everyone's Easter clothes/watch people scramble for seats. Fun times.

Afterwards we headed to Manhattan for Easter lunch. The girls love playing with their cousins.

After mass Brad mentioned that neutral shoes must be in style. He said he noticed us three wearing them, along with many other people. Evidence of previous statement, looked at everyone's Easter outfits.

The girls are growing so quickly and I try my best to cherish these days when they run for Easter eggs and let me dress them in matching bunny shirts.

Christmas 2013

We had a blessed Christmas! We enjoyed hosting my mom and sister, my dad, and Brad's family. The girls are dolls and soak up everything Christmas. I hope they always have the fondest memories of our holidays.

Writing notes to Santa on Christmas Eve. The only thing better than being a kid on Christmas, is watching your children on Christmas.

Sprinkling Reindeer food on the lawn.

Christmas morning!

We love Lego friends around here!

A fun breakfast, thank you Brad and Pinterest;)

Helping Dad hang lights. I did not approve of them climbing this high. But clearly wasn't too scared because I took the picture;) I am usually a white lights kind of girl, but got a crazy hair and bought colored for our new house. They are the big bulbs and looked great, we called it the gingerbread house. Brad is fearless on a ladder and did most of it while I had taken the girls to see Frozen the day before Thanksgiving. He did the highest peaks alone and said several neighbors came out and told him that he was scaring them.

We really enjoyed the holiday season this year and are so blessed.

4th of July

We spent the 4th at the lake. We watched fireworks from the boat and then the kids did a lot at the house. I hated fireworks as a child (and tornadoes and thunderstorms) and my children have caught on. Jilli wore earplugs for the fireworks at the house but was fine in the boat. Of course the girls swam and swam and swam. The neighbors' grandchildren were down and Mia made quick friends with one of their girls. She really enjoyed playing with her and is now going to be pen pals with her.

We had our annual Low Country Boil. We almost had it indoors due to a pop up hail storm late in the afternoon.
