Lynch Reunion

Earlier this month we traveled to Oklahoma for a family reunion with my Grandma Ruby's family. We have been going to this reunion for as long as I can remember. This reunion meant a lot to my grandma, she would have loved to see her great grandchildren having such a great time.  It was her/our family's turn to host. My sister was in charge of games/activities and she did a great job! I didn't know how she was going to pull off all of her ideas, but she out did herself! The girls truly enjoyed the old fashioned fun!
 Foam Visor Crafts
 Balloon Animals
 Adorable Cousin Jackie
 3 Legged Race
 Face Painting
 Wheelbarrow Racing
Brad got quite competitive during this event. :)
Water Balloon Toss

We also had a pie eating contest, I was worn out and didn't get any pictures. We were up the night before making 18 pudding pies. They were all used in the contest, I was amazed.

campout

In May I had the honor of going on a Mother/Daughter Daisy Campout with my favorite little Daisy! The whole time I was just thanking God that I could have this special time with Mia. We had such a wonderful time going on the nature trail, making SMORE's, and enjoying time with her friends and their moms. Mia has made some wonderful friends and it is a joy to visit with their moms.

reallian

 reallian

I overheard Mia saying this the other day to Jillian. She said "It is a combination of  really? and Jillian!" Such a smart girl that Mia can be! This phrase is perfect for when she won't cooperate for a picture or pulls some other trick out of her hat.

1. The top photo was the final result of trying to get a decent picture. Jillian was acting out, Mia was laughing at her. Finally, I get Mia to calm down and tried the close your eyes trick. I said open your eyes on the count of three. I then counted in Spanish. On tres Jilli said " I thought you said 4." So I counted to four in English. She said "I meant Spanish." The whole time she had her eyes closed. Right after tres she opened her eyes and lurched forward yelling "QUATRO!"

2. One day we were driving to an antique store. Mia asked what an antique was and Jillian replied in an annoyed tone "An antique is something old that they dust off and sell." I don't know where she comes up with any of this.

Another fun year at the Blueberry Patch! Jillian finally picked her fair share this year, as she was trying to keep up with the big girls! We took friends this year and had a blast!

Piano Recital

Mia Kate performed well yesterday at her second piano recital. She played "New World Symphony." Her teacher always wears high heels to our house for her lesson. Mia always wants high heeled shoes and I NEVER let her get them. Well, I saw these darling pink shoes and got them for her birthday, she was thrilled. I only let her wear them on special occassions, like Easter and her recital, twice. Mom, the old tease. Occassionally she sneaks them on and we will be halfway somewhere and she pops up "I wore my heels!" then tromps around Target like a 25 year old.

Nevertheless, Mia enjoys piano and is doing well!

ice cream truck

The girls had their first ever experience with the ice cream truck this summer. I know that is kind of sad. Anyways, Jillian heard it and ran out front and was waving it down. Brad was laughing because I took their picture. Boy, they were so proud of themselves, they paid with their own money. Mia was especially proud because the night before she let Brad pull her tooth. We told her the tooth fairy brings more money if you let someone pull it. Brad told her that it was time and she finally just said "I know." She was very proud to buy a special treat with that tooth fairy money!

Dance Recital

The girls finished up the year of dance and acrobats. I don't think I have written about it on here, but for those who read this and didn't know, I went back to teaching full time in January. Long story, but it happened. Therefore, Miss Jilli couldn't take dance during a weekday at the same studio as Mia.

Jillian actually was able to take dance at her preschool and it was a WONDERFUL program for her. She went at noon one day a week. It was taught by some gal separate from the preschool, so I had to pay her instead of the school. I learned that working full time means your children have more responsibilities, such has turning in the tuition. I sent Jilli's tuition with her in her dance bag and she had to turn it in. I find this hilarious, but the checks were cashed. Her recital so so simple, after school one day, wear your best dance outfit. The teacher made the girls matching ribbons with their names and gave them each a rose. They performed a tap number and a ballet number, Jillian did great!

Miss Mia had her 4th recital at the Lied Center. This is her annual picture with the Jayhawk. She was in two numbers, a jazz dance and her NAC routine. She is so fun to watch with that hair and smile and she was just bouncing up on stage during her NAC routine. She is so excited because next year she gets a 5 year trophy! I am amazed at the confidence she has on stage, she did great!

Spring Sports

Jillian just finished her first outdoor soccer season. She is getting the hang of soccer and more confident making contact with the ball. She sure can keep up running though!

Mia is on to her 3rd season with the Orange Crush softball team. Each game is so fun to watch, the girls are making plays and our Mia is quite the batter. We worked very hard with her this spring and it is paying off!

Happy Birthday Jillian!

Yes, this is late. Her birthday was in May, the last week of school, which was a fabulously planned idea 5 years ago when I was having a baby at the end of the school year. Now, yikes, May is worse than Christmas. I was in such a frenzy finishing up the school year that I backed my car into my garage door the morning of her birthday party. Never fear, she had a wonderful day and plenty of celebrating!

Happy Birthday Jillian!
